Review: Moto 360 (Gold) - When technology meets craftsmanship

Introduction

Since the time of the launch, Moto 360 has caught attention of everybody especially in the developing nations. Rumors were running high that there soon shall be a gold variant of the Motorola Moto 360. Some of the leaked images of the gold Moto 360 gave more air to fire when it briefly appeared on Amazon.

Some of you would recall Motorola’s blog which made major announcement around new peripherals for it ambitious smart-watch that shall include swappable metal-faced bands in champagne gold & grey colors.

The company shall also provide regular upgrades and widespread customization aids to the Moto 360. This implies that the users will be allowed to create their own custom interface designs for their watch’s display with an app called My Design. To add cherry on pie Moto Body, a fitness tracking feature which helps users monitor steps, heart rate, calories burned etc will also be spotted.

Till now this watch came only  with a leather strap but that is going to change soon as you will have gold & silver strap coming along and it could be treated more as jewellery. Another feature of these strap would be that it will come in all sizes to that it can fit any wrist size with easy.

General observation & verdict:


Moto 360 is great piece of gadget however Mircrosoft band takes a lead as it is OS agnostic while Moto is Android dependent. Standard Moto 360 costs $250 (Rs 17,999 Indian retail price). The company said that the aircraft-grade steel edition will cost $299, while the gold variant will cost a further $30 and should become available during upcoming Christmas season ahead.
