Getting to Know About All New Ford Endeavour 2016:

Ford Endeavour directly competes with Toyota Fortuner in India. The former generation Endeavour did really well for Ford in India, until Fortuner came in. The all new Endeavour is an improved SUV from house of Ford in every possible manner thus making it more appealing. The pricing for the SUV is also quite competitive – INR 26,63,000, which is pretty less compared to Toyota Fortuner.

Build & Quality:

Let’s quickly get into its hood to see what Ford Endeavour had to offer. We must say – this SUV is really a beast.

Exteriors - Endeavour is truly an American SUV –it has no chiseled edges but the muscular posture is quite distinctive. It sports a big front grille, flared wheel curves, silver skid plate and tall attitude thus commands a lot of road presence.

Interiors- The SUV really sways with its luxurious, well-appointed interiors. The dashboard is a nice mix of beige and grey, while its top is swathed in leather that provides a premium feel. The feel is heightened with the well-laid out centre console, quality of plastics, and switches. It also sports single glovebox, sans the cooling. Cabin is definitely more spacious when behind the wheel thanks to the bigger windscreen and lower set dash. The major USP of Ford Endeavour is panoramic sunroof which gives SUV an airy feel.

Features- SUV comes loaded with semi-auto parallel park assist and front parking sensors, along with SYNC3 - Endeavour’s infotainment system which allows you to pair your smartphones via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The SUV’s audio system offers a crunchier sound quality and gets 10 speakers. SUV also boasts of featuring dual zone climate control and temperature control for the second row.

Space- With a near 5 metre length there’s ample legroom for front and rear seat making it one of the most spacious SUV in its segment. Seats on Endeavour are very comfortable. However the third row is little cramped and is best suitable for kids or adults with small height. In terms of Luggage space, SUV’s third row seats are powered, and you can flip the seats down at the press of a button which adds to the convenience.

Engines and Performance-  Engine is heart of any car, and Ford Endeavour is no different - SUV packs in a five-cylinder, 3.2-litre engine producing 200PS and 470Nm of torque, and could race upto 100kmph in 10.86 seconds. Endeavour weighs heavier at about 2394kg, but six-speed automatic transmission deserves acclaim, as it is the quicker of the two gearboxes to shift gears and adds to the performance. There are two engine variants on offer on the Endy - the 3.2 and 2.2 litre Duratorq. The 2.2 TDCi is available in Trend 2WD/4WD manual or 2WD automatic and Titanium 2WD automatic. The 3.2 TDCi is only available in 4WD automatic in Trend or Titanium avatars. The 225mm ground clearance serves you well, especially when you put the car off the road.

Ride Quality & Off-Road Experience:

The SUV performs extremely well in city traffic with its lighter and more responsive steering. It feels lot sportier and yet very easy to drive in bad traffic too. The 4WD is similar to Land Rover, with a dial that allows you to switch the car's personality to respond to varying surfaces. This Terrain Management System has Rock, Snow/Mud and Sand modes, and works with ease. The Endeavour also gets a rear differential lock. When climbing uphill/rocks the Endeavour’s front parking sensors are great help, which lets one know how close the front end is to obstructions. Really cool feature. For our experience a custom made track was prepared at Area 56 motorsports in Keesara, Hyderabad. We tested 3.2L variant (4WD).  Our off-roading included steep climbs, severe turns, hill descent, water-wading, tilted driving at a 30-degree etc. truly meant for adrenaline junkie like us.

Overall Verdict:

The Great Ford Endeavour Drive had been an outstanding event for our team. This was our first high end SUV off-roading experience. We were simply blown away by the fact what a fully loaded SUV can achieve. The prices of SUV are affordable, offers better specs compared to rivals and comes with brilliant features. From city roads to off-roads, from water to snow – this is a true companion for all roads.

Truly enchanting & mystic experience – Thanks Ford Endeavour.
