Pros&Cons: Xiaomi Redmi Pro With Deca-Core

Xiaomi has launched Redmi Pro With Deca-Core processor in China. The phone in terms of its specification posies to be a game changer.

Pros:


  1. The device is powered by Mediatek's deca-core Helio X25 chipset with Mali-T880 GPU, generating a 5.5-inch FullHD OLED display with a pixel density of ~401ppi, a 100 percent NTSC colour gamut, and 2.5D curved glass.
  2. The striking feature of  Redmi Pro is the dual rear camera setup which includes 13 megapixel camera and 5 megapixel depth sensor that allows you to produce DSLR-quality bokeh effects. 
  3. The front camera enables you to click pictures 5 megapixels quality.
  4. The much needed battery for 5.5” screen is here with Redmi packing the device with lasting 4,050mAh battery.
  5. The users have the option to choose between these variants - Helio X20 (3GB RAM + 32GB storage) at CNY 1,499 (roughly Rs. 15,100), Helio X25 (3GB + 64GB) at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 17,100), and Helio X25 (4GB + 128GB) at CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,200).

Cons:

  1. Although the phone has premium aluminium body, with CNC-chambered edges, and a USB Type-C port, the design seems to be a copy iPhone 6 and it tends to belittle the power of this device. 
  2. The service of Redmi phones is going to be a big question in India.
  3. Redmi does not provide regular OS updates to keep it in line with the major competitors.

General Observation & Verdict  

Although the India launch is not yet finalized, The phone is very smartly priced if converted from CNY. If you are a person wants to go out of the box and need a power packed smartphone, this should be your treat.
