Hyundai is all set to launch the new Gen Elantra in India. While Elantra has not been as successful as its Verna, i20 Series models, the new & revamped version will be a strong contender in INR 12.99-20 Lakhs category.

Below are the key 10 things you should know about new Elantra
1. The new Elantra looks more 'European' in exterior design with a minimalist interiors. In other words it is moving away from its famous fluidic design.
2. The new model of Elantra is indeed its sixth generation making way to India. Sedan will offer comfort and safety features such as sunroof, side and curtain airbags, front ventilated seats, speed sensing auto door lock, ABS and EBD as standard, electronic stability control, hill-start assist and rear parking sensor among others.
3. This new generation model is built for strength – i.e.53 per cent of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) has been used to provide higher structural rigidity.
4. In terms of vital stats of the next Gen Elantra sedan, it is 20mm longer and 25mm wider than the existing model, measuring 4610mm in length, 1800mm in width, and 1450mm in height with a wheelbase of 2700mm.
5. The new Elantra sports a large bolder hexagonal front grille with boomerang-shaped air intakes on the bumper and LED fog lamps along with swept back headlamps.
6. The side profile is definitely more stylish due to its prominent character lines, sharp ORVMs integrated turn lights and new sporty alloys.
7. The rear is revamped too and comes with a new boot lid and the very noticeable wraparound LED tail lamps.
8. Elantra has made no changes to its engines. It is likely to continue with the old 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines. Hyundai may bring a new 2.0 litre petrol engine to India and existing 1.6 litre diesel motor is likely to be revised as well.

9. The top variant of Elantra will get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with navigation. The high end connectivity and entertainment features like Apple CarPlay / Android Auto, Music player, AUX-IN and Bluetooth are also going to be on board. Sedan is available in five colour options, which include - Marina Blue, Polar White, Sleek Silver, Phantom Black, Passion Red.
10. The new-gen Elantra may be priced between ₹ 12.99 lakh to 20 lakh and will compete with Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia.
