Skoda Kodiaq SUV - 10 Key Things to Know


Skoda has recently introduced Kodiaq SUV at a function in Berlin. This SUV was first showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show as the Vision S concept and will go on sale in early 2017. Do you know this SUV is named after a species of brown bear, the Kodiaq. This is going to be second SUV after YETI that shall be launched by house of Skoda in India.

10 Key Things to Know About Skoda Kodiaq SUV


1) The Kodiaq is about 4,697mm long, 1,882mm wide and 1,676mm tall. Its wheelbase measures 2,791 mm, giving it decent interior room for seven occupants. The vehicle is based on VW Group’s MQB platform which features a lot of lightweight chassis components.

2) The Kodiaq adheres to traditional Skoda look due to its lines that are clear, precise and clean cut. SUV sports highly recessed shoulder line and comes with wide three-dimensional grille along with raked headlights, which flow into the grille, give the Kodiaq a distinctive appearance.

3) C-shaped rear lights uses LEDs that is typical of Skoda and overall look of the car is contingent on the three trim levels on offer – Active, Ambition and Style.



4) Kodiaq is loaded with top notch features such as optional tri-zone climate control which has its own control panel for the rear seats, a fabric/leather combination or Alcantara upholstery, AppleCarPlay /Android Auto, ambient lighting, WiFi hotspot and multiple cameras for a 180 degree view.

5) The European models will also get auto brake, tow assist and lane departure warning.

6) Kodiaq SUV will come in Five engine options – two TDI and three TSI engines.

7) Both engines (TDI & TSI) will feature a 6-speed manual or DSG automatic units with six or seven speeds.

8) The Kodiaq shall be available in both front and all-wheel drive configuration with different driving modes.

9) The Kodiaq is an significant vehicle for Skoda in India and it has already announced that it will bring the SUV here in 2017.





10) The SUV will slot alongside the Superb but is likely to be priced higher than the sedan however it is assumed that they will locally assemble the vehicle to keep prices competitive.
