2022 Maruti Suzuki XL6 - Exclusive Review

After recently launched Ertiga 2022, Maruti has given another block buster in form of XL6 for the Indian market, with a few visual edits and some equipment upgrades. Major alteration is to the powertrain of the MPV, to make it more cost effective to run and dual-tone paint.

Exteriors:

More chrome accentuates the front grille giving it a mild muscular look. The 15-inch black alloy wheels have been upgraded to 16-inch dual-tone alloy giving it a more sportier look. At the rear, the roof-mounted spoiler is in a renewed avatar and the tailgate gets a new chrome garnish. LED taillights get restyled lighting elements and smoked glass. Rest, everything remains just the same.

Interiors:

The design of the cabin remains the same as the former model. The dashboard comes with neatly integrated AC vents on the passenger side & has the same horizontal slots as before. The steering wheel remains identical as well, and keyless entry and push-button start are available. Although the infotainment system still gets a 7-inch touchscreen, it now runs SmartPlay Pro system.

Engine:

The 2022 Maruti XL6 is fuelled by K15C engine, with a mild-hybrid system on offer. This offers a good 103 PS of maximum power and 136.8 Nm of peak torque. There is an option to choose between a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 6-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, and the latter gets paddle shifters behind the steering wheel. While the new XL6 has slightly less power than its predecessor, it gives a higher fuel economy i.e 20.97 kmpl on the manual version and 20.27 kmpl on the automatic version.

PricingMaruti Suzuki XL6 is currently priced from Rs. 11.29 lakh to Rs. 14.55 lakh (ex-showroom New Delhi)

Verdict: Suzuki has competition from Suzuki i.e. Maruti Showrooms vs. Nexa Showrooms. We feel Ertiga is better value for money option overall especially those under tight budget. None the less, XL6 is a good MPV and even base variant has many good things to offer.
