Really Four Dollars? My friend in US asked. I said, it’s like Ripleys Believe it or Not however this is true. Freedom 251 is world’s most affordable smartphone which is available for just $4. This smartphone has taken the world of mobile by a storm and however many people still believe it is not going to work out or deliver its promises.

Getting to know about Freedom 251

Not many people know the Ringing Bells (the manufacturer) faces a loss of around 150 rupees ($2.25) per unit, and is anticipating government subsidy which aligns directly with Govt’s initiative of ‘Make in India’ meant to promote ultra large scale Digitisation & Mobile revolution in India. Build & Quality

Freedom 251 is well built, despite its price. The placement of the rear camera and curved sides reminds one of Moto E and is much thinner. Freedom 251's plastic body looks rich and also makes the phone light weight. The device easy to hold in one hand, thanks to the grid finish on the back and 4-inch screen.

Processor & RAM: Phone sports 1.3GHz quad-core processor and 1GB RAM

Display: Phone comes with decent qHD 4-inch IPS, 960x540-pixel display

Camera: 3.2-megapixel rear camera with 0.3-megapixel front

Storage: 8 GB expandable storage up to 32GB via microSD card

SIM: It has provision for dual-SIM card slot


Built for Affordability - Freedom 251

Battery: 1,450 mAh battery and can keep phone up for a day on a single charge

Connectivity: This phone also offers features as Wi-Fi and 3G; Supports Micro USB

OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop

UI: Icons on the phone still looked similar to Apple's iOS

Sound: Loud but not so impressive and the speaker placed at the bottom
