Review: Lava Iris Fuel 50, a power-hub phone

Introduction

For all the lovers of Xiaomi there is an Indian phone maker called Lava which has come up with a new phone called Iris Fuel 50 which boasts of a 3000mAh battery and  may pose a stiff challenger to Chinese phone maker. Iris Fuel 50 is priced at Rs. 7,799 (under $130) and hence from pricing perspective too, it has a solid edge over Xiaomi.

The major usp of this smartphone is the 3000mAh battery, which is perhaps the largest battery in a sub-Rs. 10,000 smartphone that allows up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 360 hours of standby time on 3G networks. That is like a power-back up phone in other words.
Iris Fuel 50's 3000mAh battery is larger than some of the renowned smartphones in likes of Zenfone 5 A501CG (2110mAh), Xiaomi's Redmi 1S (2000mAh) and Moto E(1980mAh) and runs on Android 4.4 out of the box.
