Getting to know about Nexus 9

Some of you might think what is so special about this Tablet? There are couple of reason to be excited – this is indeed the first device to run Google's new Android 5.0 Lollipop mobile operating system
For the first time Google had partnered with HTC, to release this edition which is fuelled further by a 64-bit 2.3GHz Nvidia K1 processor and bears a 2,048x1,536-pixel screen. Secondly Nexus 9 embraced a 4:3 ratio, like that of Apple's iPad. We shall get into its detailed review below.

Build & Quality

Body: The overall build of 8.9-inch tablet is very high end and no way less than an iPad. The overall looks is plush (the tablet's smooth matte etc) & the device is easy to hold (doesn’t look that bulky). The Nexus 9 is lean, at 0.31 inch (7.95mm), and weighs just 0.94 pound (425g)

Display: The tablet comes with a 2,048 x 1,536-pixel-resolution with an 4:3 aspect ratio that makes the screen look bright and fruit for eyes. In display, it clearly competes with an iPad. Double-tapping the display lets the users to wake up the device which is an interesting feature

Processor: The tablet is driven by a 64-bit 2.3GHz Nvidia K1 processor with Kepler GPU and 2GB of RAM. Hence all the apps & high end graphic games run with super ease

OS: As we all know Nexus 9 is going to be world’s first tablet that runs on Android Lollipop. It has an interesting feature called self-service Guest Mode function, where the tablet users can temporarily "sign into" the tablet by adding themselves as a temporary guest. After usage, you can then remove your account and erase your activity off the tablet. Other features that Lollipop brings on table is a new notification setup, enhanced multitasking, and a new battery saver mode etc.

Connectivity: Tablet comes with only a single Micro-USB 2.0 port and a 3.5mm audio jack. This tablet is also NFC enabled. The keyboard folio "magnetically attaches to the Nexus 9 and is sold separately, pairs by NFC and can charge via Micro-USB with a battery. Smart Google.

General Observation & Verdict

This device is perfect hybrid between 7-inches & 10 inches tablets (iPads). Nexus 9 will surely offer competition to both of Apple's latest tablets/slates: the iPad Mini 3 with a 7.9-inch screen and the iPad Air 2 with a 9. From pricing perspective too, Nexus has a slight edge over iPad. A strongly recommended tablet by RT Team.
