2026 Renault Duster (India) Edition - Should you consider it?

New Renault Duster Unveiled in India: Hybrid Power, Bold Design, April 2026 Launch

Renault has officially unveiled the third-generation Duster for India, marking the popular SUV’s return after a four-year break. Featuring a sharper, India-specific design, petrol and hybrid powertrains, and a tech-loaded cabin, the new Duster is the brand’s first launch under the International Game Plan 2027. Deliveries begin April 2026.

Sharper, More Rugged Design

The 2026 Renault Duster retains its iconic SUV stance but introduces India-focused updates. These include new headlights with eyebrow-style LED DRLs, a bold grille with Duster branding, pixel-style fog lamps, rugged black cladding, C-pillar-mounted rear door handles, and connected LED tail-lamps unique to the India model. Buyers get 17- and 18-inch wheels and a new Mountain Jade Green shade inspired by the Himalayas.

Petrol and Hybrid Power Options

The India-spec Duster will be offered with multiple powertrains:

·         Turbo TCe 160: 163 PS, 280 Nm (6MT / 6-speed DCT)

·         Turbo TCe 100: 100 PS, 160 Nm (6MT)

·         Strong Hybrid E-Tech 160: 1.8L petrol + dual electric motors, enabling up to 80% electric-only city driving

Select variants will also feature 4x4 Terrain Control with five drive modes and hill-descent control.

Inside, the new Duster gets a 10.1-inch touchscreen with Google built-in, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, ventilated powered seats, panoramic sunroof, and wireless charging. Safety highlights include six airbags, a 360-degree camera, and Level 2 ADAS with 17 India-specific features.

Launch Timeline & Rivals



Pre-bookings are open at ₹21,000, with prices set to be announced in March 2026. Petrol variants will go on sale in April, followed by hybrids during the festive season. Expected pricing of ₹10–20 lakh places the Duster against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Toyota Hyryder.
