Pros&Cons: LG Stylus 2 Plus

LG had announced Stylus 2 plus last month globally. LG has now officially launched it in India with a price tag of Rs 24,450.

Pros:

  1. LG Stylus 2 Plus has 16 megapixel pixel camera which promises pictures of exceptional quality. The front camera of 8 megapixel is a selfie delight.
  2. The phone is powered by 1.4GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is a beast of burden. Feel free to load in latest games , download stuff , multitask - this phone is not getting tired.
  3. What complements the above remark is its RAM. 3GB RAM should be able to take care of all the app demands. This is one of the highest RAM configuration a device currently has.
  4. The phone has a full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels ) giving you a pixel density of  ~386 ppi.
  5. The phone shows a pop up when the stylus is removed from "pen keeper". The pop up allows you to perform actions including creating a memo and image clipping.

Cons:

  1. The phone currently runs on Android Marshmallow. However the question would be how early (if any)  future updates will be available for this device.
  2. LG Stylus 2 Plus is a large phone having display of 5.7 inches. There is a stylus in addition to the display. The battery of 3000mAH would be just average for this device. LG could have done a better here.
  3. LG Stylus 2 Plus uses a IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which is less vibrant as compared to super AMOLED display.
  4. The phone has an internal storage of 16GB. We would have expected it to be at least 32GB given the other configuration it provides.

General Observation & Verdict

A good buy for price tag less 25000/- INR. It competes directly with Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi and Micromax. If you are looking for power pack at affordable price - you can surely go this phone.

Pros:

1) Maruti Suzuki India is all set to launch one of the most awaited compact SUV to take on Mahindra KUV 100 & Ford Ecosport and will be known as Ignis( (iM-4).

2) The complete production of Ignis will happen based on Make in India program with high-level of localization.

3) Ignis is a fresh car, i.e. it is built from the scratch on Suzuki’s new generation platform making it one of the lightest & stiffer hatchback in its segment on which Maruti Suzuki Baleno premium hatchback is also based upon.

4) It borrows much of its features from its concept version viz. clam-shell bonnet, projector headlamps instead of LED units, neatly chromed front fascia, chunky styling with flared wheel arches and jeweled headlamps etc.

5) The exterior of this compact SUV is a crafted to perfection. It features blacked out A and B pillars, three-slat vents, an outside rear view mirrors pull-style door handles and powerful 10-spoke, 18-inch alloy wheels.

6) At the back (rear portion), the car gets tailgate mounted spoiler, stylish bumper with black insert, conventional turn indicators and a rear windscreen wiper.

7) Vital Stats of the car is impressive too – the car measures 3,679mm in length, 1,579mm in width and 1,478mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,438mm.

8) The interior of the Ignis is equally impressive – It is quite sporty, and has a good cabin space. It gets a dual-tone interior theme with a dashboard that sports an integrated touchscreen display and sporty orange highlights. The top-end model of the Ignis might get SmartPlay system with Apple Carplay as well.

9) In terms of engines, the Ignis will sport the 83 bhp, 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and 74 bhp, 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine (similar to that of Swift hatchback). The Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a 5-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic gearbox churning upto 20 KMPL.

10) The car is also set to be launched in Festive Season of 2016 at an estimated price of 4-6 Lakhs for base model.

Cons:

1) Maruti Suzuki  has been widely criticized for low end plastic materials in its car which does not give the owner a plush feeling.

2) The safety features in Suzuki cars are poorest compared to other brands available in India.

3) Being the lightest weight car in its category, we do not know how will it behave on highways when on high speeds.

4) While Suzuki cars have widest range of service centers in India, their service quality & customer support lag quite behind.

5) The shockers of Suzuki cars are not great, hence we can expect some rough, bumpy rides on off roads.
