Google Pixel 10: The AI-First Flagship That Thinks Smarter

When Google unveiled the Pixel 10 in India, it wasn’t just another incremental update — it marked a clear shift toward AI-centric smartphones that anticipate your needs, not just execute your commands. Think of it as more than a phone — it’s your digital sidekick. But does that make it better than its predecessor or rivals? Let’s unpack that in a way that’s both informative and entertaining.

Google Pixel 10 - India Edition

📍 What's New in Pixel 10 vs Pixel 9

At first glance, the Pixel 10 seems to stick closely to the Pixel 9 playbook — same sleek look and a familiar design language. But the real story lies under the hood and in what it does with what it has:

Pixel 10 Pro & Pro XL

🔥 Smarter Inside

  • Tensor G5 Chipset — a new Google-built processor that focuses on AI and machine learning more than sheer brute strength. It’s meant to feel “fluid” in real-life use, not just blistering in benchmarks.

  • AI Features like Magic Cue, Camera Coach, and Gemini integrations give contextual help — from writing better emails to capturing better photos.

Google Pixel 10 - Base model

📸 Camera Gameplay Changed

  • Unlike the Pixel 9, the Pixel 10 comes with a triple camera setup, including a dedicated telephoto lens with 5× optical zoom — a serious upgrade in versatility.

  • But here’s the catch: some enthusiasts note the main and ultra-wide sensors are slightly different (and arguably not as strong on paper as last year’s), traded for that zoom capability.

Google Pixel 10 Pro Fold

🔋 Battery & Charging

  • Bigger battery (~4970mAh) with slightly faster wired charging and new Qi2 magnetic wireless charging (Pixelsnap) tech — Google’s answer to Apple’s MagSafe.

🧠 Software That Lasts

  • Ships with Android 16 and gets 7 years of updates, a rare longevity promise in Android land.

Verdict: It’s a thoughtful evolutionary upgrade — not radically different from the Pixel 9, but smarter and equipped for the future. However, if you already have a Pixel 9, the jump isn’t must-have for everyone.

📊 Pixel 10 vs Other Flagship Android Rivals

In the premium bracket (~₹80,000), Pixel 10 plays with heavyweights like Samsung Galaxy S25 and OnePlus 13. How does it compare?

💪 Performance

  • Tensor G5 is efficient and AI-optimized but doesn’t match the raw power of Qualcomm’s latest or Samsung’s Exynos/A-series silicon — especially for hardcore gaming or sustained performance.

📸 Cameras

  • Pixel lineup traditionally shines in everyday photography and computational magic — sometimes outshining pure hardware stacks of rivals. But the sensor changes this year have sparked debates.

🔋 Battery & Charging

  • Smaller batteries in some competitors (like the iPhone) can lose out in endurance tests; Pixel 10 often goes longer in typical use.

Summary: Pixel 10 isn’t a power champion, but it’s extremely polished for everyday users who care about smart features, photo quality, and long software support — a niche that many competitors don’t emphasize as clearly.

📱 Pixel 10 vs iPhone: The East vs West Duel 🥊

So how does the Pixel 10 stack up against Apple’s famous fruit 🍎 — especially the iPhone 16 and current iPhone 17?

🧠 Performance

  • iPhones often lead on pure chip performance (thanks to Apple’s A-series), especially in gaming or multi-core tasks.

  • Pixel’s Tensor G5 excels in AI tasks rather than brute force.

📸 Camera

  • iPhones balance color and consistency very well, while Pixel is known for AI-assisted photography that can sometimes look more “punchy.”

  • Compare that to Pixel’s Camera Coach and AI photography tools, and the choice becomes stylistic: manual control and editing vs realistic computational shots

🔋 Battery & Charging

  • Pixel’s larger cell and magnetic charging with Qi2 often outlast similar iPhones in daily use.

⚙️ Software

  • Android vs iOS is a big philosophical difference: Android gives more customization and AI toys; iOS prioritizes efficiency and ecosystem synergy with Macs, iPads, and Watch devices.

💡 Bottom Line: For Android lovers — and those who want intelligent assistance baked into every corner — Pixel 10 wins hearts. But for users invested in Apple’s ecosystem, an iPhone may feel smoother and more cohesive.

🏷️ Pricing in India (Tentative)

At launch, the Pixel 10 base variant was priced at around ₹79,999squarely in premium territory
That pricing closely mirrors many iPhone models like the iPhone 17, making Pixel 10 a direct rival rather than a budget contender.

Other Pixel 10 Series Prices (India):

ModelStarting Price (Approx)
Pixel 10₹79,999
Pixel 10 Pro₹1,09,999
Pixel 10 Pro XL₹1,24,999

✍️ Final Word: Should You Buy It?

Here’s the TL;DR in a nutshell:

🔥 Buy it if:

  • You love clean Android with AI that actually helps.

  • Photography (especially smart computational shots) matters to you.

  • You want long software support and future-proof features.

🤔 Think twice if:

  • You prioritize raw performance benchmarks.

  • You’re upgrading from Pixel 9 and don’t care for subtle improvements.

  • You’re on a tight budget (there are more value-for-money choices under ₹60k).

📌 Conclusion

The Google Pixel 10 isn’t just another shiny phone on the shelf — it’s a deep statement about where smartphones are headed: AI as the core user experience, not just hardware specs. Whether you’re team Android or even eyeing the iPhone, the Pixel 10 gives you reasons to think differently about what a smartphone can be.

Pros&Cons: LG Stylus 2 Plus

LG had announced Stylus 2 plus last month globally. LG has now officially launched it in India with a price tag of Rs 24,450.

Pros:

  1. LG Stylus 2 Plus has 16 megapixel pixel camera which promises pictures of exceptional quality. The front camera of 8 megapixel is a selfie delight.
  2. The phone is powered by 1.4GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is a beast of burden. Feel free to load in latest games , download stuff , multitask - this phone is not getting tired.
  3. What complements the above remark is its RAM. 3GB RAM should be able to take care of all the app demands. This is one of the highest RAM configuration a device currently has.
  4. The phone has a full HD display (1080 x 1920 pixels ) giving you a pixel density of  ~386 ppi.
  5. The phone shows a pop up when the stylus is removed from "pen keeper". The pop up allows you to perform actions including creating a memo and image clipping.

Cons:

  1. The phone currently runs on Android Marshmallow. However the question would be how early (if any)  future updates will be available for this device.
  2. LG Stylus 2 Plus is a large phone having display of 5.7 inches. There is a stylus in addition to the display. The battery of 3000mAH would be just average for this device. LG could have done a better here.
  3. LG Stylus 2 Plus uses a IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which is less vibrant as compared to super AMOLED display.
  4. The phone has an internal storage of 16GB. We would have expected it to be at least 32GB given the other configuration it provides.

General Observation & Verdict

A good buy for price tag less 25000/- INR. It competes directly with Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi and Micromax. If you are looking for power pack at affordable price - you can surely go this phone.
